Celebrate Independence Day at the Lewes Ferry Terminal
Evening Lawn Party and Fireworks Show on July 4

LEWES, Del. – Cape May – Lewes Ferry officials announced that the Lewes Ferry Terminal will once again host “Fireworks on the Green” on Thursday, July 4 beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Lewes fireworks show, which will be launched from a barge 1,500 feet off the Lewes beaches, is scheduled to illuminate the skies beginning around 9:00 p.m.

“Our green provides a perfect vantage point to enjoy this incredible display,” said Heath Gehrke, Director of Ferry Operations. “Admission and parking are free so bring a beach chair or your favorite blanket and come join us to celebrate America’s birthday!”

The lawn party will take place on Thursday, July 4 from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. on the Lewes Terminal Green. Live music featuring local favorite, Glass Onion, begins at 6:30 p.m. and will end at approximately 10:00 p.m. Face painting is set to start at 6:00 p.m. and continue until 8:30 p.m. As Delaware’s premier Rock and Roll party band, Glass Onion features a mix of music from the 1950s to 2019; Elvis Presley to Taylor Swift!

“On the Rocks” Dockside Grill and Off-centered On the Rocks will be open with full menu and full bar service. Other food and drink will be available for purchase on the lawn as well.

Parking is available at the Lewes terminal for the event. Guests should note that that Savannah Road at the drawbridge will be closed to vehicles at 7:00 p.m. followed the closure of Freedom Highway at Monroe Avenue at 8:00 p.m. In coordination with the City of Lewes and Lewes Police Department, please be advised that vehicles parked on site will not be permitted to leave the Ferry Terminal lot for a minimum of 30 minutes as we attempt to minimize traffic impacts and allow for pedestrians and bikers to exit following the conclusion of the fireworks.
