DelDOT Advisory: S.R. 141/I-95 Improvement Project

DelDOT's contractor, Mumford & Miller Inc., continues to pave and widen SR141 northbound and southbound.  The contractor is building fences and parapets for the new SR141 northbound and southbound bridges; constructing the Exit 5 ramp from I295 northbound to SR141 northbound; and working on installing utility infrastructure and large sign structures through the SR141 and I95 northbound corridor. The contractor is also working to construct the shoulder and barrier on I95 northbound.

LANE CLOSURES:  Motorists should expect traffic on SR141 southbound and northbound to be reduced to one lane in the construction area during the hours of 9a.m. to 3p.m., Monday thru Friday.  Ramp Exit 5B (NB I-295 to NB SR141/Newport) remains closed until August 30, 2018. 

RAMP CLOSURES: Daytime Ramp Closure for SR 141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project

Exit 3A/SR 141 Southbound to I-95 Northbound will be closed from 9 AM until 3 PM beginning on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 through Thursday, August 30, 2018, pending weather. There will be no ramp closure on the weekend.  

DETOUR ROUTE:  Motorists traveling on SR 141 Southbound will follow detour signs to Westbound Commons Boulevard, right onto Churchmans Road, enter onto SR 1 southbound, and merge onto I-95 northbound and follow detour signs.

Exit 3A/SR 141 Northbound to I-95 Northbound will be closed from 9 AM until 3 PM on the following dates: Wednesday, August 29, 2018 through Friday, August 31, 2018; AND Wednesday, September 5, 2018 and Thursday, September 6, 2018. The daytime ramp closure isnecessary for the installation of riprap to prevent further erosion and hot-mix paving.

DETOUR ROUTE:  Motorists traveling east on Commons Boulevard will follow detour signs to Commons Boulevardto Churchmans Road to I-95 Northbound to I-295 Northbound.  Motorists traveling on SR 141 Northbound will follow detour signs to Commons Boulevard to Churchmans Road to I-95 Northbound to I-295 Northbound.  Detour signage will be posted for motorists.
